Our trainer, Susan Barrett, has been an IT trainer for over 20 years primarily on Microsoft products and VoIP telephone systems.

She has been a finalist twice in the Best Business Women Awards and a judge in 2020.

Over to Susan…

Coaching and training is what I have done in one way or another, for most of my career. I started life as a Director’s Secretary or PA at companies like The Burton Group and GEC Marconi. I quickly learned that not only do I have enviable organisational skills, but also an aptitude for translating “tech talk” into plain English so anyone can understand it.

Those roles taught me the importance of making sure you have the right skills to not just do your job, but to improve your productivity and – consequently – your value to the team. Plus, it makes your CV look good too!

After a long and eventful career as a Technical Trainer in the networking industry and working for various training companies – Harley West Training, Spring IT Training, Network Alchemy and Avaya, I set up RabbIT Training Ltd in 2001. We rebranded as First Call in 2021.

I’ve been working with Microsoft software and Splicecom ever since. I believe that everyone, no matter what level they are, can benefit from being trained by an expert, whether you’re a beginner or you just need a refresh.

I believe that knowledge is power and it gives me a real thrill when I see my “students” growing, developing and becoming more productive and valued team members as a result of my training. If you wish to see the kinds of organisations and individuals I’ve had the privilege of helping, then please see my many client testimonials.

I believe in the importance of common sense and clear communication when it comes to training.  Please do get in touch to find out how I can help you and your staff become more productive using their Microsoft software.

Best Business Women Awards

In September 2018, I was delighted to be nominated as a finalist in the Best Business Women Awards 2018 for the Best Business Service and Best Business Women in STEM. Again, in September 2019 I was nominated as a finalist in the Best Business Women Awards 2019 for the Best Business Women in STEM.

In 2020 I was proud to sponsor the Best Business Woman in Financial Services category and I was also part of the judging team. It was an amazing experience being a part of these awards, learning about so many amazing businesses that started on the kitchen table and are now thriving, highly profitable businesses.

“Over the last 12 years I have worked with over 150 IT Trainers. I would have no hesitation in saying that Susan Barrett was one of the best in terms of professionalism, commitment and loyalty.”
